Environmental Law Lecture Series

Maastricht University is hosting a lecture series on EU environmental law, titled "Strengthening EU Environmental Law: Legal Perspectives on Greening Europe," aimed at providing students and scholars with core insights into the state of affairs and further improvement of EU environmental law.

This freely accessible online (and hybrid) lecture series provides students and scholars with core insights in the state of affairs and further development of EU environmental law. The lectures will be held in 2023 and 2024, and will be recorded and made available through YouTube.

The first lecture in the series will take place on 9 March from 15h30 - 17h00. The opening lecture will be given by Professor Michael Faure, who will focus on environmental criminal law, and will also include lectures on topics such as the duty to protect the environment, EU competences and the energy crisis, the right of future generations, and access to justice in environmental matters.

This GreenDeal-Net lecture serie is hosted by MCELMETRO and organised in cooperation with GLaw-Net and GreenDeal-NET. Maastricht University students will be eligible for certificates of attendance (see more information under the registration link).
