She is currently Associate Professor of International Law at the University of Trento’s Law Faculty. She holds a PhD from the State University of Milan. She has been external consultant to the Ministry of the environment of Italy from 2009 to 2013 and was a member of the UNECE Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee from 2014 to 2017.

Her area of expertise is particularly in the fields of international and EU environmental law. Her research has focused on environmental crime, environmental damage and its reparation, climate change, non-compliance mechanisms, public participation, and access to justice in environmental matters. Her works include a recent co-authored book published by Brill on the Legal Regulation of Environmental Crime, the International and European Dimension.
