Paul Tobin is a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Politics, and Deputy Director of the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, at the University of Manchester. He specialises in the politics and public policy of climate change within Europe. In particular, Paul has specialised in the pathways to climate leadership and also, in contrast, the processes that enable the dismantling of environmental legislation. Paul is Editor of the Manchester University Press ‘European Politics Series’. Since 1st January 2020, Paul has been leading an ESRC (UK) New Investigator grant entitled 'Polycentric pioneers? Explaining variations in governance models and their impacts on local climate change policy'. The project involves multi-level and multi-actor analysis of climate policy in Europe.
