Gül Özerol is an associate professor at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. Her work revolves around the sustainable and equitable governance of natural resources. She applies comparative and transdisciplinary research methods to draw insights from diverse political contexts. Over the past 20 years, she has gained expertise and recognition in water, energy and climate governance by participating in and managing collaborative projects in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and North America. From 2013 until 2020, she was the coordinator of the Palestinian-Dutch Academic Cooperation Programme on Water. She has co-edited two books and (co)authored over 30 scientific articles published in policy-oriented and interdisciplinary journals.
