Carine Germond is a Professor of European Studies at the Department of Historical and Classical Studies, Faculties of Humanities, NTNU. She has held academic positions at Yale University (USA), Maastricht University (NL), the University of Portsmouth (UK), and the European University Institute (IT). She has received distinguished fellowships from a variety of European and national institutions across Europe. A historian of Contemporary Europe with a keen interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, she has researched and published extensively on the history, politics, and policies of the European Union (EU), particularly on the Common Agricultural Policy and the European Parliament. Her recent research focuses on sustainability in the agricultural and maritime policies of the EU. She leads the interdisciplinary, NTNU Ocean Seed-fu nded EUSEAS project on "Using, Managing and Protecting the Seas: The European Union and Maritime Sustainability."
