Carbon Pricing and the Equitable Transition of International Shipping

We recorded the enlightening lecture with Assistant Professor Goran Dominioni, where he discussed the vital role of international shipping in the global economy and its path to climate neutrality. The lecture, which took place in December 2023, explored the recent target set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for the shipping sector's climate-neutral goal by 2050. It also addressed the expected adoption of climate change mitigation measures by the IMO in Fall 2025, including a GHG pricing instrument. The lecture discusses the equity-related concerns that arise from the decarbonization of international shipping and examines potential strategies to address these challenges.
